Since antiquity the Sodalite stone has been known as the stone of Creatives; such as artists, singers, painter and sculptors as it was believed to be able to encourage inspiration and creativity.
Sodalite gains its name from the sodium content found within this mineral. It is found in many shades of blue, and only blue; it shares many qualities of the stone Lapis Lazuli and it therefore often is mistaken for it. Sodalite will generally contain white streaks of calcite though, and scientifically Sodalite also possesses a lower specific gravity than Lapis.
Each stone and gemstone is unique, each piece of jewelry we make is also.
Natural Stones are not perfect. They may have surface or internal characteristics and color variations. I do my best to take accurate photos to show exactly what you will receive. Colors will vary slightly from one computer monitor to another.
*NOTE: Wire weaving and wrapping is a genre of jewelry that requires pliable wire to be shaped into each piece. As a piece progresses, the wire hardens and sometimes it is hammered to further strengthen a piece. It will retain it’s shape, however if you try to bend it or it gets squished, it will bend. Do not place your wire woven or wrapped jewelry in a purse or pocket.
