No gemstone is more creatively colored by nature than the Agate. Moss Agate is not banded, and therefore not strictly an Agate in scientific terms; but is included in the Agate family. Agate is a variety of Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. It is clear to milky white, with dendritic inclusions of manganese or iron that has grown into patterns similar to moss or lichen. In ancient times Agate was believed to be a Healing and Good Luck stone. Moss Agate is also believed to be a stone of wealth, attracting abundance in all forms.
Each stone and gemstone is unique, each piece of jewelry we make is also.
Natural Stones are not perfect. They may have surface or internal characteristics and color variations. I do my best to take accurate photos to show exactly what you will receive. Colors will vary slightly from one computer monitor to another.
*NOTE: Wire weaving and wrapping is a genre of jewelry that requires pliable wire to be shaped into each piece. As a piece progresses, the wire hardens and sometimes it is hammered to further strengthen a piece. It will retain it’s shape, however if you try to bend it or it gets squished, it will bend. Do not place your wire woven or wrapped jewelry in a purse or pocket.
