Kingman Turquoise Necklace


This handmade Kingman Turquoise beaded necklace is 24″ long and has a lobster claw closure, it’s finished with antiqued copper rings and clasp.  The copper has been treated to protect and maintain the finish.

The stones in this necklace are genuine Kingman Turquoise from the Mineral Park Mine fourteen miles northwest of Kingman Arizona. It was first mined by Indians before white man came to the area, the Mineral Park Mine is one of three sites of prehistoric mining localities in the state of Arizona & has been owned by the Colbaugh family for the last three generations.

Turquoise is found in Arizona, Alabama, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Texas, and Virginia. During the 1970s, the Bureau of Mines stated, in terms of value, that Turquoise is the most sought after stone in the U.S. mining operations. (quoted from Colbaugh Processing Inc.)
